Roast Venison or Beef

Recipe Serves 6


3-4 lb. Venison Roast or Beef Roast
2 Red Onion cut into chunks
6 medium Red Potatoes peeled and cut into chunks
6 large Carrots peeled and cut into chunks
1 T Cavender’s Seasoning
2 T. Olive Oil


Sprinkle Roast on all sides with seasoning and let sit for 30 minutes. Preheat oven at 350° Heat oil in deep iron skillet. Brown/Sear Roast on all sides. Place cut vegetables around roast and season with salt and pepper to taste. Place lid on pan and bake for 1 hour more or less. Done when fork pushes in tender.

Note: This may be cooked in a crock pot if you do not have a deep iron skillet with a lid. Be sure to brown the roast before placing in crock pot for best flavor.
